EMAS - Community Eco-Management and Audit Scheme
This service is linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Community Eco-Management and Audit Scheme, widely known as the EMAS Regulation, is an official quality label for voluntary environmental management and communication.
Such a system typically includes the following elements:
- Design and implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS). This system may comply with the requirements of standards such as EN ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and/or EN ISO 50001:2011 (Energy Management).
- Active involvement of company personnel in matters of environmental management.
- Preparation and publication of an Environmental Statement. The Environmental Statement contains verified information on all environmental aspects of the organization's operations, as well as its performance in managing those aspects (e.g. energy efficiency, efficient use of materials, water, waste, biodiversity, emissions).
- Verification of the Environmental Statement
TÜV HELLAS is accredited by the Hellenic Accreditation System (ESYD) and has many years of experience in the verification of Environmental Management Systems in accordance with the EMAS Regulation, as well as in the validation of Environmental Statements across a wide range of industrial activities.
